Molten Core

Overview[]

Molten Core is a 40 man raid dwelling in the bowels of Blackrock Mountain. The raid also is pinned with Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker quest. The main T drop in Molten Core is Tier 1 and the main resistance required - fire. In the raid you can also get Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros , which is aquired through a chain quest similar to Thunderfury. The main reputation needed/got in Molten Core is Hydraxian Waterlords , for to summon Ragnaros , the Firelord you must summon Majordomo Executus using an item aquired with Hydraxian Waterlords reputation. There is also a quest chain start at MC for the Lok'delar, Stave of the Ancient Keepers and Rhok'delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers. MC is also pinned with Ahn'Qiraj opening chain quest.

History[]

The Molten Core was created during the War of the Three Hammers more than 300 years ago. Near the end of the war, Thaurissan, the leader of the Dark Iron Dwarves, sought to summon a powerful fire elemental to defeat the combined forces of the Bronzebeard and Wildhammer clans. He was more successful than he could have imagined, as he released Ragnaros the Firelord from millennia of captivity under the Redridge Mountains.

Ragnaros destroyed the city of Thaurissan and created the volcano of Blackrock Mountain. He dwells there to this day with his elemental servants and the enslaved remnants of the Dark Iron dwarf clan. The burning lake where Ragnaros lies sleeping acts as a rift connecting to the plane of fire, allowing the malicious elementals to pass through.
